Personal dashboard: Notifications (resource configuration)

Note

This page describes notification settings for a resource. To learn about configuring receiving notification for a certain user account, see Notifications (profile configuration).

In the default configuration, this section of the personal dashboard is available only to users in the Administrative and Technical groups. Editing the settings is available only to users in the Technical group.

In the Notifications section of the dashboard, you can configure thresholds which, when exceeded, the client receives an email notification. All settings are valid only for the current domain or service.

The following notifications are supported:

  • Inbound traffic — Total inbound bandwidth (before filtering).
  • Outbound traffic — Total outbound bandwidth.
  • Missed traffic — Bandwidth of inbound traffic that was passed to the client.
  • Blocked IP addresses — Number of blocked IP addresses in the Qrator Labs automatic blacklists at the same time.

A notification is sent if the average value of any of the indicators over the last minute exceeds the specified threshold.

Enable notifications or change the notification threshold for an indicator

  1. Select the domain under Domains or service under Services.

  2. Select Notifications.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Find the indicator you want and edit the numeric value of the threshold by entering from your keyboard or using the slider.

    • In the Inbound, Outbound and Missed traffic categories, the default unit of measurement is Mbps. To enter values greater than 999 Mbps, you must use the Gbps unit of measurement. To switch between Mbit/s and Gbit/s, click on the unit of measure.

    • In the Blocked IP addresses category, the unit of measure is one IP address.

  5. Click Save.

Disable notifications for a category

  1. Select the domain under Domains or service under Services.

  2. Select Notifications.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Find the indicator you want and put 0 as its threshold value.

The image will appear next to the category.

  5. Click Save.

Configuration example

In this example, the client will receive a notification in each of the following cases:

  • If average traffic bandwidth over the last minute was 2 Gbps,
  • If average outbound bandwidth over the last minute was 500 Mbit/s,
  • If the automatic blacklist over the last minute had an average of 2000 IP addresses.

Notifications on the bandwidth of traffic passed to the customer's network are disabled in this example.
